Summary
Autoworld 2019 in Brussels will be flying the British flag. Not only the cars, but also the design of the exhibition will transport visitors to the British capital. While marveling at a Jaguar D-Type or an Aston Martin Lagonda, visitors are accompanied by songs by Cream, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Visitors can thus experience British automotive history and the equally British lifestyle at first hand.
This article contains the following chapters
- British feeling - chapeau!
- British through and through
- Left hand drive despite the British theme
- The (British?) mother-in-law doesn't miss out either
- A phalanx of British racing cars

Of course, the author could have started this introduction to the "So British" - cars & lifestyle - exhibition at Autoworld in Brussels with a smug remark about Brexit and the EU. Or point out special aspects of the British automobile, which ranges from luxurious to sporty and ingenious to bizarre (think of the design of the Triumph Mayflower or the model name of the Humber Snipe). But all this would only distract from what an outstanding exhibition is currently on show in Brussels. With the current show presented at the end of the year, the exhibition organizers have not only succeeded in presenting a broad selection of British automobiles and motorcycles, but last but not least also in conveying a very special atmosphere. Incidentally, lifestyle here does not mean that high-priced watches, jewelry or accessories are on offer. Rather, the exhibition organizers are concerned with the British feeling - and they succeed, chapeau! You may find yourself lost in thought in front of a rugged roadster from the 1960s while songs by Cream or John Lennon's "working class hero" play in the background.
