When you think of a country like India, classic cars don't immediately spring to mind. But at the Indian Grand Prix, which was held for the first time in 2011, 24 classic cars were organized to chauffeur the current Formula 1 heroes around the circuit. There is certainly something special about driving a classic car in India, firstly because the roads are chaotic and secondly because you always have to be prepared for wrong-way drivers or cows on the highway. This picture story shows the best moments of the drivers' presentation with the classic cars at the 2011 Indian Grand Prix.

I would never have imagined that our beloved classic cars would also be a big topic in India.

That's why I was amazed at how the F1 driver parade ...

....as in Singapore, Suzuka or Barcelona 24 different,....

...beautiful oldies drove onto the start-finish straight.

... and even partly equipped with chauffeurs in the right outfit,

The 24 drivers arrive on time (which is not normally taken so seriously in India) and take their seats in the cars assigned to them.

... Schumi in the Buick, they've all found their place.

Whether local hero Narain Karthikeyan in the Buick Eight, ...

... Sebastian Vettel in the Rolls Royce, ...

... Timo Glock in the Sunbeam Talbot, ...

... or Fernando Alonso in the Lagonda, they are all chauffeured around the race track and introduced to the enthusiastic audience.

Noida, located in the Delhi agglomeration, is covered in fog all weekend.

However, it is not fog, but fine sand from the nearby desert, which severely impairs visibility.

The fine sand dust is deposited everywhere, both in the cameras and on and in the cars.
