Sure, the Targa Florio is a circuit race, longer, bigger and more brutal. But from the right angle, the fast village passages between Ollon and Villars are actually a little reminiscent of the endurance race in Sicily. Our picture story takes a humorous look at things away from the racing action.

Every few years, the small village of Huémoz in the canton of Vaud becomes the partner municipality of Cerda in Sicily.

Similar to the Targa Florio, the race for the European Hill Climb Championship, from Ollon up to Villars, took place here from 1953 to 1971.
