Victory in the modern Gaisberg race in 2010 went to two people who had never stood on the podium in this race before: Peter and Christian Krieglsteiner in a Mercedes-Benz 280 SE (pictured above) won the overall classification of the traditional race in front of tens of thousands of spectators in 2010. They have often taken part, but have never finished at the top: Peter and Christian Krieglsteiner left two Gaisberg winners, Hermann Wallner and Otmar Wacek, in their wake this year and took their first victory in the cult classic car race. In the lead from day one, they never relinquished it despite changing weather conditions. And winning on the Gaisberg is by no means easy, as a quick look at the running times, for example on the last run up the Gaisberg on Sunday, shows: The first three cars were separated by just one hundredth of a second at the end, the first six classics by five hundredths! The Gaisberg victory is becoming more and more competitive.
