Rover did pioneering work with its gas turbine vehicles. The Jet 1 was the first such prototype that could also be driven on public roads, albeit with compromises. This car did, however, set speed records. This article goes into detail about the Rover Jet 1, which was also Rover's first mid-engined car, and shows it in many historical pictures.
