Photo Gallery «Renault Caravelle 1100 - Sunshine between everyday life and elegance»
Renault wanted to counter the success of the VW Karmann-Ghia and built the Floride, which was also called the Caravelle. From 1959 to 1968, the elegant car, initially equipped with Dauphine and later with R8 technology, was built as a coupé and a convertible. During the nine years, it became ever more powerful and faster, but little changed in terms of design. It remained an affordable and comfortable car with a little luxury, coupled with everyday practicality and economy. This driving report portrays a Renault Caravelle 1100 from 1964 and tells the story of the model series, illustrated with current and historical pictures, as well as sales brochures.
