Summary
The last iteration of the Alfa Romeo 33 was the edgiest, but certainly also the most mature. The heir to the Alfasud now came in a modernized suit, with more traction and cleaner emissions. This driving report, which is illustrated with many historical and current pictures, clarifies whether something of the former "Cuore Sportivo" has fallen by the wayside.
This article contains the following chapters

Preview (beginning of the article)
It is actually frowned upon to mix languages in a title. But "Trentatre" simply sounds better than thirty-three, "tempo" means "weather" in Italian and not speed. And this actually describes the Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 i.e. 4x4 very well, because thanks to its selectable four-wheel drive, the Italian can also keep its lane safely on snow-covered roads. In reality, however, the Alfa Romeo 33 was simply an improved version of the Alfasud, whose history dates back to the late 1960s. In 1971, after four years of development, the Alfasud hatchback was presented as an innovative four-door model that could compete with practically any rival in terms of agility, handling and space economy. At less than 3.9 meters, Dr. Rudolf Hruska and his development team managed to comfortably accommodate five people and also provide them with 400 liters of trunk space for their luggage. The car owed its attractive appearance to Giorgetto Giugiaro.
