It is almost unimaginable today that a vehicle manual can fit onto 28 pages(some of which are only sparsely printed) , including the cover and everything. At a time when even an ordinary family sedan has to be documented with 400 or more pages and even the keyword index is already a small booklet.
But back in the 1960s, you could still describe a passenger car like the Renault R4 in just these 28 pages and there were even maintenance instructions included. The simplicity of the presentation and texts is impressive and the chance that the proud owners actually read these instructions is not small.
The simplicity of the instructions is of course also directly dependent on the simplicity of operation and there was not as much to configure/adjust/adjust on a Renault R4 as is the case with today's cars.
In any case, it's fun to leaf through this manual and of course we didn't want to deprive our readers of this pleasure. The gallery on the left shows all 28 pages.
