The Princess 4-litre R combines the luxury and refinements associated for so many years with Vanden Plas and the smoothness, reliability and high performance of a Rolls-Royce engine. The result is a beautiful and satisfying car with the lines and capabilities of a thoroughbred. I am proud to introduce this magnificent new model which embodies the very best in British engineering and British craftsmanship. I am very pleased to say something about the Princess R and to express our pleasure in being associated with the British Motor Corporation in this project. The firm of Vanden Plas is well known to us. Between the wars they made many fine bodies for Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars. The new engine has been specially developed to meet the requirements of this latest addition to the Vanden Plas range and incorporates many ad vanced features common to engines used in Rolls- Royce cars.
