The two door coupe body which is fully undersealed and rust protected in cavity areas is of all steel unitised construction, and has an upwards opening tailgate with gas struts and remote release security lock in the driver's door aperture. The outstanding feature of the car is the sophisticated interior specification. The burr walnut facia and instrument panel, with a comprehensive range of instruments, is set in a foam filled safety surround and incorporates an illuminated lockable glove locker. The conventional interior lighting, which incorporates a thermal delay and is controlled by courtesy switches on both doors, is supplemented by a separate light for the luggage compartment and a map light in the driver's door. Electric clock and cigar lighter are fitted as standard equipment as are the independently controlled washers and wiper (with stainless steel landing strip) for the backlight. The full length padded centre console houses the ashtray and provides covered storage space and is the central location for the switches for the electric windows. Provision is made for the installation of radio/stereo tape player, four pre wired speaker mountings being located in the doors and rear quarter panels.
