The body is supplied complete with wheelarches, bulkhead, battery box, dashboard and glove compartments, part floor section, hinged and locked doors and bonnet, radiator grille, and windows all round with balancing units for sliding door windows. Price £140 0 0 Overall Dimensions of Bodyshell : Length 12' 5", Width 4' 5" Depth 3' 8". Delivery ex works at the moment weeks. These bodyshells are designed to bolt, without additional framework, direct on to a Ford 8 chassis, 7' 6" wheelbase, from late 1937 to 1953, and the Ford Popular from 1953 to 1959. This includes the following models : 7Y 1937-39 E04A 1939-48 E494A 1948-53 I03E 1953 onwards. The earlier models (wire wheels) are not recommended for conversion, due to the very poor braking system and the fact that the models ceased production 20 years ago, making spares more difficult to obtain. All the components off a Ford Prefect, 7' 10" wheelbase, can be transferred on to a Ford Popular chassis frame, with the exception of the propellor shaft and torque tube, which should be exchanged for the shorter 8 h.p. type. This applies to the following models : 7W 1937-39 E93A 1939-48 E493A 1949-53. The 8 h.p. and 10 h.p. engines are, of course, interchangeable.
