... all its sporting performance and fastlooking lines, the Sunbeam Rapier doesn’t ask you to sacrifice your creature comforts and love of the better things in life. For this is a sophisticated and eminently civilised car. One glance at the interior appointments and quality of materials tells you that this is a car in the great Sunbeam tradition. The seats, specially contoured and ribbed for better support when you’re travelling far and fast, are upholstered in soft, supple Ambla with 'breathable' centre panels that are fluted and embossed. They are deeply upholstered with moulded latex foam for daylong comfort and snug support. The fullyreclining front seats provide an unusually large amount of fore and aft adjustment with spring assistance. The seat backs are also adjustable for rake—a refinement which, combined with the adjustable steering wheel, allows you to achieve the ‘ideal’ driving position however long the journey. Both front seats have an antitilt frame lock for added safety. The immensely strong allsteel body is welded into a single, rigid unit, enclosing you in a protective shell. The facia dispenses with edges, corners, hard surfaces, and distracting bright metal parts in favour of something safer— well padded, with curves instead of corners, all moulded from a special impactabsorbing material that fits in ...Source:Archiv
