Photo Gallery «Gooding & Co Amelia Island 2019 - prefer a beach car to a Porsche or Ferrari?»
Gooding & Co offered 89 1:1 scale cars for sale at the annual Amelia Island auction on March 8, 2019. On average, the cars were just 40 years old, which is mainly due to the high proportion of neo-classics with 17 cars. On average, each car was expected to fetch around USD 380,000, but ultimately paid around USD 282,000. For almost a third of the vehicles, the highest bid was less than 60% of the median estimate. In view of the high proportion of cars that were knocked down without a reserve price, some vehicles were sold at true bargain prices, including Ferraris and Porsches. A VW 181 was almost sold for gold. This auction report analyzes the results and shows many of the cars in pictures.
