There have been around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of which have disappeared. Crosley, founded by Powel Crosley Jr, can also be counted among these vanished brands. In export, Crosley was called Crosmobile and its first car went into series production in 1939 as the "car of the future". Others followed until 1952, when demand declined and the money ran out.
