The auctioning of collections is becoming more and more commonplace in the international auction scene. On November 11, 2017, Bonhams was able to offer the Bothwell family's collection in California, which focused on top-class racing cars from the early decades of the 20th century. A record price of over seven million was achieved for a Peugeot from 1914, with all cars selling for an average of more than 50 percent above the estimate.
