There were around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of them have disappeared. One of these vanished brands is Avanti. Starting with a "Studebaker-Ur-Avanti" launched in 1962 with a few special features, sales went well. This was followed by the first factory change and a new Avanti model, which became a perennial favorite. However, after several changes of manufacturer and new models, production was discontinued in 1991. This was followed in 1998 by a relaunch and later a new Avanti model, production of which was discontinued in Mexico in 2010/11.
