The fans loved this man, who was still thundering up the mountains at the age of 60 and even won his last German championship on the mountain in a small works BMW 700. In the time that followed, "old Stuck" prepared his son Hans-Joachim's entry into racing with a great deal of love and dedication - it was touching how he explained the racing line and gave him valuable tips on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring when he was just 12. When "Strietzel" then competed in his first races as an 18-year-old rookie in the Koepchen BMW in 2002 and won straight away, the "old man" was always at his side. This did not change in the years that followed. After all, Stuck Sen. was still able to enjoy the wild BMW touring car and Formula 2 years as well as the beginning of the Formula 1 era alongside his son before he passed away at the age of 77.
