The Klausen Race Memorial is currently not only a topic in the historic racing scene. Many media outlets also had an exciting topic to cover during the "sour cucumber season". Even the Swiss television program "Schweiz aktuell" had some strange stories to report from the two mountain cantons of Uri and Glarus. After the Glarus organizer Fritz Trümpi showed little interest in organizing the race, it became known that a small group of enthusiasts with extensive organizational experience on the Uri side wanted to organize the 2013 race. They promptly received written approval in principle from the cantonal government of Uri. However, the people of Uri had not reckoned with the people of Glarus or Fritz Trümpi. He suddenly wanted to organize the race himself again. The squabble became public and the media had their own little sensation. Behind closed doors, the two police directors from this side and the other side of the mountain met and worked with the two organizers to find a solution. Now, in the course of October, the public will find out what's going on! Until then, let's take a look back to 1993 - when the 1st Klausen Race Memorial became a reality after unspeakable labor pains. This report focuses on the staging of the Memorial in 1993.
