The year is 1992 and we find ourselves at the Norisring near Nuremberg in Germany. On the occasion of the DTM race on the ultra-fast circuit, the two greatest drivers in F1 history meet for the only time 20 years ago. Five-time Argentinian world champion Juan Manuel Fangio and seven-time German world champion Michael Schumacher. Fangio will start in the W196 in which he won the world championship in 1954 and 1955, while Schumacher will drive a pre-war racing car for the first time in his life, the 1938 W154. "After a brilliant start, the Argentinian took the lead from second on the grid and turned into the Grundig-Kehre just ahead of Schumacher. But as soon as he accelerated out, the young driver from Kerpen managed to put his W154 alongside Fangio's W196 and thus secured the cleaner part of the track under braking, as well as the ideal line for the following Schöller-S. And lo and behold, the German is already ahead on the way into the second lap. He controls his opponent in the rear-view mirror as he brakes for the second Grundig hairpin! He confidently defends the lead to the finish. Michael Schumacher takes maximum points at the Nuremberg GP and becomes the new leader of the world championship. The narrowly beaten Fangio after the race: 'Unfortunately, I burnt out my clutch at the start and without it I had absolutely no chance against Schumacher. That could have been the press report if it had been a race. But it wasn't. It was a demonstration drive by six famous historic Mercedes racing cars.
