At the 50th edition of the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix, everything was as usual and yet completely different. Because just a few days earlier, "Katastrophen-Sepp" Josef Reinhard died at the age of 91. This picture story is dedicated to him.

It has been 50 years since the first AvD OGP took place in 1973.

My father was soon on site with his camera for the "Automobil-Revue".

Unfortunately, however, his time is up on August 7, 2023 ...

... and so he left us forever at the age of 91. What remains are great memories and pictures from times gone by.

And lo and behold: after 50 years, two of the three names are still active through us sons: Seufert and Reinhard.

Only one person, Uli Sauer, made the impossible possible: participation in all 50 OGPs, always in a BMW 328.

But let's leave sentimentality and annual rings to one side ...

... and devote ourselves to the action, because that's when it got really loud ...

... and above all hot

Soon the "dance wheel" was being swung - no matter whether alone ...

... or with a partner.

Not only the OGP, but also this BMW coupé turned 50 this year. Only one year older: the most powerful Munich letter

Away with the sinfully expensive electric blankets, ...

... grab the right car and then just get away quickly, ...

... without wasting time looking back.

The good Prince Poldi - who recently turned 80 years young - can't stop ...

... and is actually still toying with the idea of entering F1.

There we have it again, the 50, and it shows where the apex is, ...

... who, however, through wild drifting ...

... or strong oversteer could only be found with difficulty.

Everyone received a matching sign at the weekend.

I think they were spot on with this one.

... some of whom have already undergone several open heart operations.

Unfortunately, what remains for once is a yawning emptiness.
