Photo Gallery «Comfortable and surprisingly sporty - Mercedes-Benz 220 S (historical test)»
With the Type 220 S, Mercedes-Benz presented a luxury-class saloon in 1956 that excelled with more power and comfort and even showed sporty talents. The six-cylinder engine produced 100 hp and took the saloon to 160 km/h. Paul Schweder was also won over by the elegant car, even if he still had a few small improvements to make. This article reproduces the original wording of the krafthand road test from 1956 and shows the car in many historical pictures.
