Photo Gallery «Opel Rekord D Caravan - A life of vice»
Since the 1950s, station wagons from Rüsselsheim have combined the elegance and comfort of a passenger car with the utility of a delivery van. With the Opel Rekord D, the German GM subsidiary broke away from the US design language for the first time and presented what was probably the most Italian and graceful Opel ever. The practical five-door models were also extremely successful in terms of style. Unfortunately, however, they were not only good to look at, but also good to drive, which is why many of them died early on. This article is dedicated to the elegant space miracle and shows a surviving Rekord 1900 Caravan in many pictures.
